La perseverancia no es jamás negación de la propia falibilidad, ni del acierto que puedan avalar los pensamientos y acciones de otros. Mas la terquedad es admisión ciega de la propia infalibilidad y violento rechazo de la razón que a los demás les pueda asistir. Procura ser perseverante, evita ser terco.
 
English Translation: ERA - Aforismos - Perserverancia Never confuse perseverance in the intent of accomplishing something with obstinacy and stubbornness. There is a great difference between the stability of reasonable resolutions and the folly of going beyond the prudent and sensible. Perseverance is a laudable virtue because it is evidence of a moral constitution capable of resisting all the impetuous swipes of incomprehension, a vitality renewed daily to confront and overcome difficulties and obstacles, a special faculty to attend to and penetrate things, and a lasting courage and ease against the fear of solitude and loneliness. Stubbornness, on the other hand, is a grotesque vice, repulsive and atrocious, as it always supposes the excessive estimations of one’s own capacities, while underestimating those of the rest, because it constitutes a disordered appetite for preferences and because it closes the doors of good judgment. Perseverance is never the negation of one’s own fallibility, nor is it the falsely supposed wisdom of knowing the thoughts and actions of others. Which is more, stubbornness is the blind admission of one’s own fallibility for it rejects the wisdom of the helpfulness of others. Seek to persevere, avoid stubbornness.
